Rules & Regulations

Important Dates

  • Application deadline for the preliminary round: October 20th, 2024 

  • Application deadline for the final round: November 3rd, 2024

  • Final results will be released two (2) weeks after the application deadline

  • Winners Concert at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall: January 11th, 2025

The Competition 


This contest will be in one part:

  1.  Auditions  - At this stage, the contestants will submit audition video(s) online, and reviewed by our panel of judges.

  2. Winners Concert - Selected winners from the audition will be eligible to perform in our Winners Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York.  

               

Certificates and trophies will be presented to the winners and teachers at the concert.

 

Eligibility

  • Instrumentalists (Piano, Strings, Woodwinds, Brass & Chinese Traditional Instruments), Vocalists, and Composers are welcome to participate in the competition.

  • All contestants are required to submit a completed audition application and submit unedited video/audio link(s)for the audition.  

  • A copy of the birth certificate or passport that serves as proof of the applicant's age and country of residence.

  • The video should be submitted via YouTube or similar websites.  No simplified arrangements will be accepted.

Regulations

  • All contestants are welcome to apply for multiple categories.

  • No changes in the repertoire are allowed after the Application deadline. 

  • Winners will be chosen in each age category. However, if none of the applications meet the competition's standards, judges reserve the right to declare no winners.

  • All judges' decisions are final and are not subject to appeal by contestants, parents, or guardians.

  • In the event of a tie, each winner will receive a trophy and a certificate.

  • Winners of the Competition will perform one piece selected by the judges from the participant's audition repertoire.

  • Only piano accompaniment can be used at the Winners Concert.  Contestants must bring their piano accompanist. New York Global Music Competition does not provide a piano accompanist but can recommend one if needed.

  • Certificates and trophies will be awarded to the winners and teachers during the Winner's Concert. An additional mailing and handling charge ($40 domestic in the US; $80 international) will apply to all unclaimed awards after the Winners Concert.
